Review: ADAPT Keto Bar - Cherry Nut
Updated: Aug 4, 2019
This ADAPT Keto Bar was another sample I received at the ADAPT Minnesota event (7/20/19). It's a cute li'l thing, only about 2"x3", so it's the perfect size if you're craving something sweet. These snacks were created by Dr Eric Westman to help folks control their cravings and stick to the keto lifestyle long term. Check out this FAQ where he answers some basic keto questions based on his ADAPT Keto Program.
Ingredients: Whey Protein Concentrate, Palm Kernel Oil, Coconut Flakes, Almonds Cranberries, Coconut Oil, MCT Oil, Red Beet Powder, Butter, Citric Acid, Lecithin (Sunflower), Natural Flavors, Malic Acid, Salt & Steviol Glycosides. Nothing too questionable, except for 'natural flavors', BUT - the company actually tells you what that consists of! (Although the dreadful castoreum could be considered an 'extract'...!)
Prep: None. Well, besides opening the package. 😉
Taste: Surprisingly good! 😋 I was not sure what to expect from the "Berry Nut" flavor but there is definitely cranberry and almond in there! Also could taste the whey protein (which I don't mind) and butter - it had a nice creamy flavor. And NO stevia aftertaste.
Value: The current price on their website is $27 for 15 bars, which is $1.80 each. They're pretty small (less than 1 oz), so it feels a bit expensive. That being said, if you're traveling or on the go they are probably worth it to ensure that you have something keto-friendly with you in a pinch. (Be careful though; they will melt! But they will solidify once cooled and be fine once again to consume.) Great snack for kids, too! They'd love the 'sweetness' and you'd love that they aren't actually consuming sugar! 😄
Final analysis: Full of flavor and not too expensive for a convenience food that you probably won't consume daily. Great size for on-the-go snacks.
